In addition to Ku Band VSAT service and our Networking service, ABL provides C Band VSAT service with dedicated bandwidth. The difference between Ku Band and C Band is the following: 

Ku Band covers the microwave frequency band between 11.7 and 12.2 GHz  for receiving, and 14.0 to 14.5 GHz for transmitting. It is more susceptible to rain fade (compared to C-Band); however, it allows substantially smaller antennas and therefore much cheaper.  It is more immune to terrestrial interference and noise. We use a 1.2m antenna with Ku Band.

C Band covers the microwave frequency band between 3.7 to 4.2 GHz for receiving and 5.925 to 6.425 GHz for transmitting. C Band is largely immune from rain fade and recommended for 24/7 service in very heavy rainfall areas. We use a 2.4m dish with our C Band service.

Dedicated bandwith, also known as Commited Information Rate or CIR, means that the bandwidth allocated to a client is partitioned from the pool of bandwidth and dedicated to that customer. The dedicated bandwidth that ABL provides with our C Band service is therefore guaranteed at all time and cannot be used by any other client..

Our C Band VSAT service is aimed at the high-end indusrtial client that needs a higher acess speed with no traffic limits such as large industrial companies in the Industrial District of Manaus.  It is also useful for large condominium complexes that want to share the signal with more than 200 residential clients.
